The Farmers’ Almanac: 196 Years Old and Undaunted by Climate Change – Modern Farmer

The Almanac, which has been published annually since 1818, continues to thrive — both in print and online. And while the likes of AccuWeather and the Weather Channel have created a meteorological monopoly, the Almanac still holds its own as a long-term forecaster. And unlike those other behemoths, it can also tell you the best days to do everything from cutting your hair to castrating a bull. To get a better idea of how the Lewiston, ME-based Almanac has adapted to both changing technology and climate,…

Bonnie Sandy‘s insight:

Didn’t you check your old farmers almanac… I’m  a farmers grand-daughter. I  do not question how the moon affects crops and the seas nor why  communications go  awry  during  mercury in retrograde.
Last week I checked the  dates-  October 21st to  November 10 Mercury will be going to be in  retrograde.  I backed up  some files on my laptop, and decided to revisit,  clarify and edit old blog drafts and complete some writing over the next few days,  So Yesterday while  my cousin and others complained that  Facebook was down, ( her plans to update her groups went awry)  I got quite a bit accomplished.
Work smart not Hard.

The Mythological Mercury  aka Greek mythological god Hermes. has winged sandals and a winged hat, indicating the ability  for speedy travel as the official messenger governed communications.
Mercury  – " influences travel, literature, poetry, merchants, and thieves  and yes thus affects SOCIAL MEDIA &  digital communication tools.)
" He is cunning and witty at a moment’s notice. But he is also recognized as a trickster and prone to misbehavior"

and yes in today’s world that  may mean your facebook, twitter, Im phone and PC may  go down"
